一秋天，唉，我常常覺得
身邊像丢了件什麼東西，
使我更寂寞了：是個影子，
是的，丢在那江南的田野中，
雖是瘦長點，你知道，那就是
老跟着你在斜陽下徘徊的。
.
現在寒夜了，爐邊的牆上
有個影子陪着我發呆：
也沉默，也低頭，到底是知己呵！
雖是神情恍惚些，我以爲，
這是你暗裏打發來的，遠迢迢，
遠迢迢的到這古城裏來的。

我也想送個影子給你呢，
奈早已不清楚了：你是在哪兒。

《Shadow》
.
Whenever autumn falls, sigh, I always feel
like something around me has been lost,
making me even more lonely: a shadow it was
yes, lost in Jiangnan's field,
a bit slim though, you know, that was the one
always lingering with you under the setting sun.

Now in a night so cold, right besides the stove on the wall
companying me losing in thought there is a shadow:
silent also, head also bowed, an intimate pal after all!
Tranced though, I suppose,
this is secretly sent by you, from afar,
from afar to this town so old.

sadly I have long lost any idea about: where you exactly are.
